Progress Report

The Hatherop Big Build fundraising campaign is targeting £1.5 million to cover the costs of all three phases of the project. It is important to note, however, that estimating the costs of a large building project is not an exact science, and we have no expectations that the final bill will come to exactly £1.5 million. Of course, we are all hoping we can do it for less and are always looking for ways to cut costs whilst never compromising quality.

The charts below aim to provide a detailed overview of our progress towards the target and where any potential savings are being made that will bring down the £1.5 million total. All the charts will be updated following the end of each month, so please check regularly to see how the campaign is progressing.

Right now, our focus is on raising the c.£338,000 estimated for the first two phases of our three-phase project, with the aim to start work on both phases simultaneously in the 2025 summer holidays. The completed works will be a tremendous boost to the learning experience at Hatherop Primary and it makes sense to have something to show for our collective fundraising efforts as soon as possible before we turn our attentions to raising the much larger total for Phase 3.

Campaign overview - Phases 1 & 2

The chart below (duplicated from the homepage) provides an at-a-glance overview of our fundraising progress to date against the c.£338,000 total.

Fundraising overview - Phases 1 & 2

This second chart provides a summary of the £119,545 raised to date, broken down by fundraising activity. As you can see, it includes approximately £108,000 that was raised previously thanks to the amazing work of the school's PTA and a very generous one-off donation of £20,000 from an anonymous benefactor. This money has been invested through St James Place and is subject to change.

* A time lag exists between donating and the charity receiving gift aid. As such, the actual figure raised will be considerably higher.

Original estimated costs - Phases 1 & 2

This next chart provides a breakdown of the estimated c.£338,000 cost of Phases 1 and 2.

Savings to date - Phases 1 & 2

As mentioned above, we are constantly trying to cut the costs of the build as much as possible without ever impinging on the quality of the final build. A big part of this we hope will be through donations of materials, time and other resources from local builders and tradesmen. Once we have tallied up savings to date we will include a final bar chart below.
