Community fundraising gathers pace in June

Updated: 1 day ago

A huge thank you to the many children, parents and other friends of Hatherop Primary who gave up their time in June to support for the Big Build. From a Euros 2024 sweepstake to a 'Colour Run' at Ampney Crucis Primary and the Open Air Sculpture Show plant fair, it’s been a very busy month with lots of money raised.

Our special thanks to pupils Emma, Erin, Freja, Olivia, Ollie (Pugh) and Willow who raised well over £550 between them completing the run on 15 June (while hopefully having heaps of fun in the process!).

Thank you also to Mae’s mum Ali for organising the plant fair and to her many helpers – young and old – who manned the stall, provided plants and also made beautiful bracelets and other gifts to sell. A particular mention to Anthony van Oss, Lynda Oliver and Cargill Sykes Landscape and Garden Design, plus Sculpture Show hosts and founders Lucy and David Abel Smith for allowing us to put on a ‘rival’ plant sale and to their gardener Robert for his support. The sale made nearly £1,500, which is an astonishing total!

And finally, thank you to Hatherop Primary's Amy Grierson and the school fundraising committee for coming up with the ingenious idea of the sweepstake then roping in lots of volunteers to do the fundraising. We are still receiving money from people, but we’ll let you know how much was raised in due course.

If we have missed anyone off the list, then we’re really sorry. Please let us know and we’ll get them on this page ASAP.

Before we go, we just wanted to remind you that if you want to take part in the 300 Club, you need to buy your ticket before the first draw on 19 June. Each ticket costs £10 and gives you the chance of winning £200, £100 or £50 on three separate occasions between now and next April.

And don’t forget, next Saturday it’s the Swing Band Picnic in the beautiful gardens of The Mill House.

Find out more about the 300 Club, picnic and all the events going on here.
