About the Event

Coln Valley 2, 5 & 10km Charity Trail Run on Saturday 14th September….

Set along the beautiful Coln River valley between Coln St Aldwyns and Bibury, the routes follow flat and fast scenic trails through sweeping sheep grazed valleys alongside the river.

With all proceeds going to the Big Build and distances for all the family, plus a bar, BBQ and cake waiting at the finish, there’s really no excuse not to get involved and support this great cause!

So whether you’re gunning for a fast trail time, looking for a change from park run, seeking to justify a big pub lunch (check out the locals – New Inn and Keepers Arms) or just wanting a beautiful country walk, please enter now as spaces are limited.

The leisurely start times even allow a chance to get Saturday kids clubs out the way or better still have a lie in!

Route Descriptions:

2km Steeplechase Fun Run:  a cracking cross-country route around undulating grassy fields. Featuring some hay bale hurdles and two crossings of the ‘dip of doom’ before a final sting in the tail up ‘heart break hill’. This promises to be a really fun route for kids of all ages! Just to add to the competitiveness (as if the kids need it!), you can include the childrens primary school or athletics club on entry so that they can try to become Team Champions of the steeplechase.

5 & 10km: following a short climb out of the valley from the start, this beautiful route follows gently undulating terrain through predominantly grass pasture, with the 10km splitting off around 3km to take a figure of eight route to Bibury (almost as beautiful as Coln ;) and past the infamous Arlington Row cottages (tourist dodging may be required). All of the route will be clearly marked and is 99% on trail. A water and jelly baby station will be provided on the 10km route.

Age restrictions:

2km – all ages, though it is recommended that U7’s are accompanied by an adult (adult entry not needed if entered in the 5 or 10k) 5km – recommended 11 or over unless accompanied by an adult 10km – recommended 16 or over
